The Project
Published Children’s Book
Squirrels in the House is a delightful, true story of a family and their pets’ adventures when squirrels invade their home. I collaborated with author, Dr. Deb Moberly, to manifest the story. This is the first ever book I’ve illustrated!

The Story
Pesky Squirrels
The story mainly follows a cat and dog duo, Carl and Henry. The reader learns of their experiences after squirrels start terrorizing their family’s home. The respective pets become the hunters of the house and guide their owners towards evicting the unwanted guests.
Meet the Pets
Henry
Henry is a vizsla dog. He’s more of a follower; he trusts the people around him easily, which makes him a great partner in crime for Carl. He’s very playful and affectionate. Henry won’t hesitate to greet you by jumping, booping, and licking you!
Carl
Carl is an orange tabby cat. He’s resourceful and is a natural leader. He has a sense of independence and is quite observant, which makes him a good model for Henry to follow. Carl is more calm and loves laying in the sun when he’s not in action.

Reviews
“I like [the illustrations’] “softness” and that they amplify the text really well. The facial expressions of the people are great; Carl’s and Henry’s personalities are apparent…”
Kathy and Bob Cooter, former Department Chair of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Memphis
Dr. Nancy Knipping, professor Emeritus from University of Missouri
“The illustrations are beautiful, warm, and realistic. Each character is drawn with personality – even the squirrels! …the pictures aptly follow and lead the text.”
Kathy Veit, National Board Certified Teacher, Elementary Teacher for 30 years
“The ending made us laugh because obviously the animals were keenly aware of what was about to happen.”
